HTA in practice: what it means for medical specialists?
The European HTA Regulation (EU HTAR) is changing the way new medicines and medical technologies are evaluated. For medical specialists, an understanding of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and economic evaluations is becoming increasingly important from clinical, scientific and policy perspectives.
FMS is therefore organising a practice-oriented webinar in which Mattias Neyt (KCE) will explain how HTA and economic evaluations are currently conducted in Belgium, how European regulation affects reimbursement procedures, and what developments medical specialists can expect in the coming years. The session combines an overview of the methodology with specific references to key Belgian and European guidelines.

Mattias Neyt
Mattias Neyt is a Senior researcher at the Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre (KCE), specialising in Health Technology Assessment and economic evaluations. Author of the Belgian guidelines for economic evaluations, co-author of European guidelines on measuring health-related quality of life, and member of the European methodological working group on HTA. Co-founder of ME-TA (Medical Evaluation and Technology Assessment), which, among other activities, organises training courses on HTA and economic evaluations.
